Keeping this a secret for almost 2 months since he knew exactly what he wanted to do, Thomas was dropping hints left and right and trying his best to also distract Josh the best that he could from asking questions. It didn't take long for him to give away a few things but Josh seemed oblivious to it or at least he hoped so. And now the stage was finally set and tonight was the night.

Along the way there were a few things that Thomas knew he had to do in order to make it extra special, something that changed his thoughts as he debated it for a little while until he knew he what he needed to do it order to make it even more special. He traveled back to the ring place without Joshua knowing and made sure that everyone else kept him from wondering where he had went. He explained to the jeweler that he wanted the birthstone rings that Josh could not stop looking at. The ones that he kept going back to but not saying a word. The ring he did pick out was gorgeous but he really felt as if the one that Josh had his eye on in the beginning was the one that he really wanted and he couldn't wait to surprise him with it.

Their families started to arrive a the hotel in Ottawa where Josh and Thomas had many many many rendezvous there when they first started dating. It was their own special place that even during Christmas time they would go just to be surrounded by decorations and share memories together of their dates there. Thomas thought the place was perfect to celebrate their Christmas and his surprise with the entire family, including Josh's brothers and parents. A few aunts and uncles were joining as well. Thomas' family there was well including his older brother who was so excited for him because he knew a lot of the way he was scared to propose again because this time it was 100% different in every single way. He was in love with Joshua Norris.

The boys that could make it for the surprise were also there, but specially Shane and his husband Román were more than excited to be there and know all about the surprise as well. Thomas couldn't wait to see the reaction on Josh's face when he knew even the team was showing up for this special moment.

As Christmas Eve night went about, Josh's family and Thomas' family always getting along and cracking jokes together, it made Thomas feel at ease and even more ready to make this moment happen. Everyone knew about it too, even the guys that were anxiously waiting. Shane had the ring handy for whenever Thomas was ready and the stalling was helping because he realized he didn't think Josh knew that it was happening tonight. But it was going to be at a specific time, the time of the night ending on their first date where they shared a kiss that left a lasting memory for Thomas as he hoped Josh remembered it as well. He didn't know then that he would be proposing tonight on Christmas Eve but he knew then he wanted a forever with him right then and there. He had looked at the time and just always caught the clock after that on that time and he'd even kiss Josh when the clock struck 11:09, and it was because he was his nuef. His nine.

Everything was going according to plan and Josh was talking to his brother's who were keeping distracted in the distance while Thomas was with his brother and parents setting up. Shane was in on this as well, he was protecting the ring for him as he was instructed to purposely brush past Josh to get his attention and lead him over to where Thomas was standing by the tree with something behind his back.

"It's 11:09," Shane giggled his signature laugh to tell Josh, "Thomas wanted me to let you know," and bowed in front of them as he leaned back to gather everyone around because it was time for Thomas to get down and propose in front of the Christmas tree that stood tall next to them. He waited until Josh was calm, he could see the slight fear in his blue eyes. He was then slowly getting on bended knee as he brought the ring out and opened it up showing off immediately that it was the ring that he picked out first and couldn't stop looking back at it, "Hey there, mon cheri, you okay? I knew your face would light up like that upon seeing this ring instead of the one you had picked out last...it was this one that you really wanted, I couldn't help but notice how you kind of kept going over to it and looking at it, I knew that it meant so much to you…especially seeing that it was our birthstones, which is something very soulmate of us…so I went ahead and made sure to get this one for you,"

He was taking it out of its box to put it on his finger, "Joshua Norris, you were that light at the end of my dark tunnel that I needed. I smile instantly at the thought of you or when you find me, you always find me. I enjoy my days with you just as much as I enjoyed the beginning of our relationship when we would sneak off to make out and how we spent countless nights here at this very place until the guys realized we needed to live together. We talk about finding our own place, an actual house here in Ottawa or somewhere close to both our hometowns. We talk a lot about everything in between realizing how meant to be we are. I promise to never stop holding your hand and I promise to laugh with you every day, to dance with you in the kitchen when Taylor Swift is in your head, I promise to learn how to use the espresso machine so I can make you your coffee just the way you like it. I promise to never stop kissing you every time we stop at a red light, I promise to always kiss your shoulder when you tell me it hurts...if you decide you would like to marry me," He paused and knew he was going off into a bit of long winded speech but this was how he planned it, and every knew Thomas was a little extra sometimes,"

He swallowed and continued, "Joshua Norris will you marry me?" He waited for that spilt second between knowing he would say yes but still somehow nervous about it, "That wasn't even half of what I wanted to say, but I figured I'd save the rest for my actual vows," He blabbed making a face with a little nose scrunch and his cheeks turning red.
